When to see an oral surgeon vs a dentist in Jaipur

General dentists treat decay, gums, and many routine extractions. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons (MDS) treat the jaws, face, complex teeth, and hospital-level trauma. At Bhardwaj Dental Centre both sit in the same family practice.

See an oral surgeon when

  • Wisdom teeth are impacted or close to a nerve
  • There is facial trauma, a broken jaw, or a large cyst or tumour in the mouth
  • You need jaw (orthognathic) surgery or complex implants
  • A tooth extraction is expected to be surgical

BDC’s Jaipur surgeons include Dr. Satish Bhardwaj (in practice since 1981; among the first OMFS specialists in Rajasthan), Dr. Bindu Bhardwaj, and Dr. Alok Bhardwaj (trauma and EHCC dental department).

A general dentist is often enough when

  • You need a checkup, filling, simple extraction, or gum cleaning
  • Aligners or whitening after a healthy-mouth exam (Dr. Harmeet Passi Bhardwaj provides general and Invisalign care at BDC)

If you are unsure, book any of the four clinics and ask to be triaged. Maxillofacial surgery · Contact
